'Snap' for Illustration Friday

'Snap'

Being on vacation, I didn't find the time to get something done for this weeks IF challenge. Funny thing is, my Daughter did. How's that? *looks perplexed*

I'm hosting her drawing here until I think she's either old enough to have a blog of her own or until she's mature enough to be discreet with information...whichever comes later. *cheezy grin*

Anyhow, this was what she came up with when I told her this week's challenge topic was 'SNAP.' I thought it was cute and I hope you do too. Let's just hope this never happens to any of us. From personal experience, as my thumb can attest, those mouse traps HURT!!!

"Raven's Moon"
This was my first foray into stylized art. What fun it was!

'TOTAL' for Illistrationfriday.com

'TOTAL DEVOTION'

This is my first submission to Illustrationfriday.com, the theme of the week being 'Total.'

I feel this picture explains it all by showing each of the figures locked in an embrace. I might even say the baby could have a lock of 'mom's hair in his/her hand somewhere under that blanket but that's for the viewer to decide.

I hope all of you have a wonderful week because,
SPRING has SPRUNG!

Getting Started

Well I guess this is the start, isn't it?! My first post on 'The Dreaming Muse.'

For those of you who don't know me, my real name is Lea but I go by many monikers: Suzie Q, Crazy and Shiikka being the ones most often used. I especially like 'Crazy' these days, because my kids have this tendency to accuse me of being 'crazy', to which I just say 'Yup.' This usually shuts them up...until they come up with a better come-back that is!

This Kitsune, in pencil form, has been sitting in/around/on top of some part of my office/junk station for several years now, mocking me with his narrow eyes whenever I find myself in a slump. I figured for this new venture into Art Blogging, I'd pull him out and give him a jazzy new style in hopes the gleam would be less intense. Unfortunately I only made him more intimidating and demanding. Oh well, that's a good thing I guess considering I need a cattle prod some days.

I look forward to many postings and the critiques I crave to better myself as an artist. Don't forget that 'Atta-Girls' are good too!

~ Crazy Shiikaa <--I tend to go by that one too!
